Rajinikanth, the iconic superstar of Tamil cinema, and renowned director Mani Ratnam are reportedly joining forces once again after a 33-year hiatus. Speculation suggests that the official announcement of their collaboration will coincide with Rajinikanth’s birthday on December 12, sparking immense excitement among fans.

The potential reunion marks a significant event in Tamil cinema, reminiscent of their last collaboration in the 1991 masterpiece “Thalapathi.” This film, inspired by the epic Mahabharata, portrayed Rajinikanth as Surya, akin to Karna, alongside Mammootty as Devaraj, akin to Duryodhana. “Thalapathi was a critical success and a commercial blockbuster, highlighting their exceptional synergy.

Mani Ratnam, currently engaged in the multi-starrer “Thug Life,” is known for his nuanced storytelling and compelling narratives. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is gearing up for “Vettaiyan” and “Coolie,” promising a vibrant lineup for his fans.
