Continuing his streak of remarkable successes, Asif Ali has started 2025 on a high note with his latest release, Rekhachithram. Directed by Jofin T. Chacko, renowned for his work in The Priest, the film premiered on January 9 and quickly became a blockbuster. Packed with surprises and twists never seen in Malayalam cinema, Rekhachithram has garnered critical acclaim and exceptional word-of-mouth, resulting in stellar box office numbers.

In just 14 days, the film has grossed a whopping ₹50 crore worldwide. Breaking down the figures, Rekhachithram earned ₹23 crore from Kerala, ₹4.5 crore from the rest of India, and ₹23 crore from overseas markets. Notably, Rekhachithram is Asif Ali’s second film to cross the ₹50 crore mark globally, following the success of Kishkindha Kaandam last year.

Produced by Venu Kunnappilly under the banners of Kavya Film Company and Ann Mega Media, Rekhachithram features Anaswara Rajan as the female lead. The movie also boasts a talented supporting cast, including Manoj K. Jayan, Indrans, Harisree Ashokan, Bhama Arun, Siddique, Jagadish, Saikumar, Sreekanth Murali, Unni Lalu, Nishanth Sagar, Prem Prakash, Sudhi Koppa, Megha Thomas, and Zarin Shihab.

Jofin T. Chacko’s direction, Appu Prabhakar’s striking cinematography, and Mujeeb Majeed’s memorable music have been widely praised, contributing significantly to the film’s success.

As Rekhachithram continues its impressive box office run, it reaffirms Asif Ali’s standing as a formidable force in the Malayalam film industry.
