Forensic becomes the biggest opener in Tovino’s career
After going through a lean patch, Tovino Thomas is finally coming back to form. His latest film ‘Forensic’, which hit screens last day, has taken the biggest opening of his career. As per the makers, the film has earned Rs 2.14 crore from its first day collections in Kerala and Rest of India (RoI) centres. As the word of mouth is positive, a huge weekend is definitely on the cards.
‘Forensic’ is written and directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan. Going by the response in social medias and in theatres, the film seems to have satisfied the thriller-loving Malayali audience. Critic reviews as well as the feedback from general audience have been largely positive. Passionate cinephiles in social medias have given a clean chit for the film rating it as a proper thriller that is worth watching in big screen.
‘Forensic’ is basically an investigative-thriller centred around a series of abduction and killing of girl children in the capital city of Trivandrum. Mamta Mohandas’ character Rithika Xavier IPS heads the investigation. Tovino Thomas plays the role of a medico-legal advisor named Samuel John Kaattookaran. ‘Bigil’ fame Reba Monica John assists him. Rony David, Anwar Shereef and Renji Panciker are also part of the investigating team.
How they solve the case and nab the culprit based on scientific evidences, killing patterns and similarities with a series of similar killings 10 years back have been presented in a thoroughly engaging manner. With multiple twists and unexpected turns, the film offers a gripping experience.
Saiju Kurup, ‘Lilli’ fame Dhanesh Anand, Prathap Pothen, Giju John, Anil Murali and Srikanth Murali have also essayed important roles. Music director Jakes Bejoy, cinematographer Akhil George and editor Shameer Muhammed form the main technical team.
The film is produced by Navis Xaviour and Siju Mathew under the banner of Juvis Productions and Raju Malliath’s Ragam Movies.
