Karthi’s Kaithi marching towards Rs 100 crore mark!
Karthi’s Diwali release ‘Kaithi’ continues to excel as it enters in its third week of theatrical run. The makers have officially announced that the film has grossed a whopping Rs 80 crore from its 12 days theatrical run worldwide. It is now just a matter of time before ‘Kaithi’ becomes Karthi’s first film to enter the elite Rs 100 crore club. It will be truly special as such a big success proves the fact that content is always the king.
‘Kaithi’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is an action film that’s devoid of the usual formulaic stuff. That no-nonsense approach makes the film unique. Critics and commoners have unanimously lapped up the film. Recently, Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu heaped praise on the film calling it a product of new age filmmaking. Since it is devoid of songs and other usual commercial elements, Mahesh sees it as a welcome change.
‘Kaithi’ is doing well not just in Tamil Nadu. Its Telugu version ‘Khaidi’ has emerged as a big success and in Kerala, despite facing stiff competition from ‘Bigil’, it has crossed the Rs 10 crore mark.
