Vedalam Collection Report : 25 crores from 2 days
Ajith starrer film Vedalam that released on Deewali directed by Siva had took an earth shattering start in Box office as per latest reports. The film which had got mixed reviews is getting heavy collections at box office despite bad weather condition in Tamil Nadu. In the first day itself it had raked in Rupees 15 crore+ from Tamil Nadu box office and set a new record in first day collections there beating Rajinikanth’s Linga (12.8 cr) and Vijay’s Kaththi (12.5 cr). And in second as well the flick had done great despite the heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, as the film had earned more than 10 crore rupees in its second day alone. That will make up the total to 25 crore+ rupees in just two days and that too from Tamil Nadu alone.
The screens are increased at many centers due to heavy rush and even outside the country screens increased due to heavy crowd. In Sri Lanka and UK, they had already increased the shows from today due to super rush at the screens. In overseas market Kamal Haasan’s Thoongavanam is doing slightly better than Vedalam. But in Indian market Vedalam seems to be going way ahead than Thoongavanam. Anyway both films are doing well that making Kollywood box office steady in this Deewali season. As per reports the distributors of the flick Vedhalam will get back their investment if the film continues its golden run throughout this weekend as well.
In reviews, Kamal Haasan’s Thoongavanam is better but in collections Vedalam seems to have taken the lead. The success of both of this film will be a sigh of relief for Kollywood as kollywood box office had witnessed more debacles this year than successes. Big stars failed at box office quite miserably. Suriya, Vijay, Vikram etc were tasted failure this year with their much hyped films and now hope is on Vedalam, Thoongavanam etc. Meanwhile small stars had tasted success there as well like Jayam Ravi, Vijay Sethupathy, Siva Karthikeyan, Vishal etc.
Hope is all around that Vedalam and Thoongavanam will bring back the Kollywood box office in to the right track.
