10 Kalpanakal : Popular film editor Don Max all set to direct his first film
Don Max, one of the most popular editors in south Indian film industry is all set to become a director. He had announced his project named 10 Kalpanakal and it will start rolling from this coming April 25th. The cast list of the film include Anoop Menon, Murali Gopi, Meera Jasmine, Thampi Antony, Joju George, Kaniha, Anumol etc. This flick will be produced by Jiji Anchani, Manu Padmanabhan Nair, Jacob Koeypuram and Biju Thoranathe. The screen play for this film is written by Sangeeth Jain and additional scripting for this flick is done by Soorej and Neerej.
This upcoming flick from Don Max will be a crime drama and Meera Jasmine is playing the role of a cop in this film. She will be playing a cop role for the first time in her career and it will be a stylish cop as per reports. Don Max had started his career as a trailer editor made his debut as independent movie editor through Shaji Kailas-Suresh Gopi team’s film The Tiger, which was a super success.
It was Don Max, (who is one among the few) who introduced spot editing to Malayalam cinema. Later he had done many popular Malayalam movie like Baba Kalyani, Chotta Mumbai, Hello, Ali Bhai, Roudram, Annan Thambi, Thalappvu, Drona, Best Actor, China Town, Kandahar, Chappa Kurishu, Karmayaodha, ABCD, monsoon Mangoes etc. He had also edited many popular Tamil films like Kuruvi, Sura,Aadhavan, Silambattam, Charulatha, Jilla etc as well. He had worked with director Shaji Kailas the most in Malayalam.
As we mentioned above, Meera Jasmine is playing her first police office character in her career. This year Malayalam cinema saw a terrific police officer character played by Nivin Pauly in Action Hero Biju. Megastar Mammootty is coming with another dynamic police officer named Rajan Zakaria through the film Kasaba. Jayasurya too coming with a Police character named Inspector Dawood Ibrahim through IDI. Manu Warrior had come up with Sreebala IPS in Rajesh Pillai Vettah as well and we have to wait and see how well Meera Jasmin’s maiden Cop role pans out.
