1971: Beyond Borders release date
Earlier in the week we had reported that the shoot for Mohanlal’s upcoming movie, 1971: Beyond Borders, was completed in Georgia. Now we hear that the movie will be releasing on April 7, Friday as a Vishu release. An official confirmation regarding the same is awaited from the makers.
1971: Beyond Borders is a big budget movie also featuring Tollywood hero Allu Sirish and Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh in pivotal characters. The movie is based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan.
Mohanlal is playing a dual character in the movie. He is playing the character Major Mahadevan for the fourth time after Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra and Kandahar. The other character is named Major Sahadevan, Mahadevan’s father who fought in the 1971 war. He will be seen sporting three different looks with one as an 85 year old.
First schedule for the movie was completed last November in tiring conditions in Rajasthan. The team shot the war sequences using battle tanks in the sandy dunes of Rajasthan. After a break, the second schedule was filmed at Ottapalam. The team recently moved to Georgia to can some important scenes for Major Mahadevan’s character, who is now a Colonel working in the UNO peace keeping battalion. Action sequences choreographed by Mafia Sasi were shot in Georgia in the final schedule.
Asha Sarath, model turned actresses Priyanka Agarwal and Zoya Zayed Khan, Sudheer Karamana, Renji Panicker, Saiju Kurup and many others are also part of the cast.
Sujith Vassudev has handled the cinematography while Rahul Subramanian and Sidharth Vipin have scored the music for this movie. The movie is produced by Haneef Mohammed under the banner Red Rose Creations.
