Aamir Khan appreciates Veeram trailer
National award winning filmmaker Jayaraj’s Veeram is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The sheer scale at which the movie is made itself is the reason for such high expectations. Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor is making his Malayalam debut this movie.
Veeram is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. It is the fifth installment in director Jayaraj’s Navarasa series.
Kunal Kappor is playing the role of of warrior Chandu Chekavar, from the Vadakkan Pattukal of North Malabar region in Kerala. Trailer for the movie was recently released by Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan.
Aamir Khan, with whom Kunal Kapoor has earlier worked in Rang De Basanti has appreciated the trailer and wished success for the team through his Twitter account.
Veeram was filmed with with a budget of around 35 crores. It is jointly produced by Chandramohan Pillai and Pradeep Rajan of Chandrakala Arts.
Most of the actors in the movie are newcomers. Shivajith Nambiar, Himarsha Venkatsamy, Satheesh Menon Divina Thakur, Aaran, Bilas Nair and Gopan Mavelikkara are some of the actors who have played supporting characters in the movie.
Allan Poppleton, who has choreographed stunts in Hollywood films like Lord of the Rings and Avatar is working in the movie. Award winning composer Jeff Rona, who was earlier an associate of the legendary Hans Zimmer, is handling the music department for the movie. Oscar and Emmy award winning make-up artist Trefor Proud is also part of the technical team of Veeram.
The movie is all set to release on February 24.
