Aashiq Abu assembles a massive star cast for Virus; Release date announced!
The official announcement of Aashiq Abu’s film ‘Virus’ came as a big surprise, when it was made last September. For the movie based on the deadly Nipah outbreak in Kozhikode, the makers had brought together a huge star cast. And the cast kept growing by each day. Last day, the final cast and crew update was made along with the release date announcement.
Virus’ cast now comprises of Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Kunchacko Boban, Indrajith Sukumaran, Parvathy, Rima Kallingal, Poornima Indrajith, Soubin Shahir, Dileesh Pothan, Rahman, Indrans, Remya Nambeesha, Madonna Sebastian, and Sharafudheen, Sreenath Bhasi, Revathy, Joju George, Senthil Krishna, Basil Joseph, Sudeesh and Vettukili Prakash. After Joshiy’s ‘Twenty 20’, that had almost all the actors from the industry, this is perhaps the biggest star cast in a Malayalam movie.
‘Virus’ is scripted jointly by Muhsin Parari of ‘KL 10 Pathu’ fame and Suhas-Sharfu, the writers of ‘Varathan’. The movie is not exactly a real-life story but is inspired from several events that occurred during the Nipah outbreak last May. The makers have confirmed that the movie is not an anthology but has interconnected stories set all over Kerala.
Virus also has a good technical crew, which includes National award winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, music director Sushin Shyam and editor Saiju Sreedharan. Aashiq Abu and Rima Kallingal are producing the movie under the banner of OPM. The movie will be hitting screens during the Vishu season on April 11.
