Allu Arjun-Fahadh Faasil starrer Pushpa to be released in two parts
Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’ is one of the most expected films in Indian cinema this year. It is the star’s first pan-Indian film that is planned to be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Directed by Sukumar, it is an action-packed mass entertainer made on a huge budget. The film has been on the floors for well over a year as shoot kept delaying due to multiple factors. Currently, due to the pandemic, shoot has been put on hold.
Latest reports suggest that the makers are planning to release ‘Pushpa’ in two parts. Director Sukumar believes that the script has the potential for a second part and he has already conveyed the same to the makers. The film was originally planned to be made on a budget of Rs 160 crores including the remunerations. The estimated budget is now around Rs 250 crores including both the parts. Allu Arjun and the producers also seem to be convinced with it. This latest development comes due to the continuous delay in shoot. It is learnt that about 45 days of work still remains for completion.
If things go as per plans, ‘Pushpa: Part 1’ will be released either in October or mid-December. The exact date will only be finalised after the team wraps up the balance portions. The second part might start rolling by next summer. Allu Arjun is said to have agreed to allocate bulk dates for the film.
Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil has been signed to play the antagonist role in ‘Pushpa’. Due to the pandemic second wave, the team had to stop shoot just days after he joined the sets. It is likely that most of Fahadh’s portions will appear only in the second part. Rashmika Mandanna, Prakash Raj, Jagapati Babu, Harish Uthaman, Vennela Kishore, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Anish Kuruvilla and many others are part of the supporting cast.
