Radhe Shyam makers donate set properties worth Rs 6 crores to a private hospital in Hyderabad

India is currently facing a rapid spike in Covid cases and there is an acute shortage of oxygen tanks and hospital beds all across the country. At this moment of crisis, many have come forward to help the government financially as well as with other generous donations in the form of medical equipments.

The makers of Prabhas’ upcoming film ‘Radhe Shyam’ have done their part by donating hospital set properties worth around 6 crores to a private hospital in Hyderabad. The set properties include 50 custom designed beds, PPE kits, medical equipments and oxygen cylinders.

Since ‘Radhe Shyam’ is a period film, the set properties were authentically made to reflect the times of the 1970s in Italy. After all the hospital portions were filmed, the makers had dismantled the set and safely transported the properties to their warehouse in Hyderabad. It was when the film’s production designer Ravinder Reddy contacted a private hospital to admit a relative that he came to know about the shortage of beds and oxygen cylinders there. Ravinder discussed the issue with the makers of ‘Radhe Shyam’ who immediately agreed to donate the set properties.

Ravinder Reddy has confirmed that the beds were custom designed and are big, strong and patient-friendly with all the comforts to suit a bed-ridden patient. The medical infrastructure they donated include 50 custom beds with cots, stretchers, personal protective equipment, medical equipment stands, saline stands and oxygen cylinders.

‘Radhe Shyam’ is a period love story set in an European backdrop. Prabhas and Pooja Hegde play the lead roles. The film is directed by Radha Krishna Kumar. Just like Prabhas’ recent films ‘Radhe Shyam’ will also have a pan-Indian release in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. It is jointly produced by UV Creations and T-Series.
