Bairavaa not to release in thetares under Exhibitors Federation
The existing stand off between producers association and the exhibitors federation has worsened as the theatre owners have decided to shut down all A class theatres in the State.
From this Thursday, all A Class theatres in the State will be closed. The exhibitors federation have said that they are willing for a meeting with the government to find a solution for the issue. Theatre strike; Bairavaa release to be affected.
According to reports, Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Bairavaa scheduled to hit screens worldwide on January 12, Friday will not be distributed to those theatres which come under the Kerala State Exhibitors Federation.
Producers association and distributors have decided to release the movie in multiplexes, government theatres and B class theatres. If any theatres under the exhibitors federation wish to screen the movie, they will have to sign an agreement complying with the producers association’s decisions before January 9.

Usually, Vijay’s movies release in a minimum of 150 theaters in the State. But this time due to the existing cinema strike, Bairavaa will be released in only 70 odd theatres. This will be a great setback for the exhibitors federation as Vijay’s movies generally register good numbers at the Kerala box office.
Vijay’s last release Theri had grossed over 2.4 crore from its first day collections alone in Kerala.
Bairavaa, directed by Azhagiya Tamizh Magan fame Bharathan is a rural mass entertainer. Keerthy Suresh is playing the female lead opposite Vijay in this movie. Vijaya Productions have bankrolled this movie.
