Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Nagarjuna to star in Mohanlal’s Randamoozham

We had earlier reported that Mohanlal’s long awaited epic drama, Randamoozham will start rolling next year. The movie is scripted by MT Vasudevan Nair based on his novel of the same name. It is being planned as a multilingual in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. English version of the movie is also being planned as there are chances for the movie to win many awards internationally including the Oscars.

Reportedly, apart from Mohanlal, Randamoozham will also feature some of India’s biggest stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Tamil superstar Vikram, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, Kannada superstar Shivraj Kumar, Prabhu and Manju Warrier. Mohanlal is playing the lead role of Bheemasenan while Amitabh Bachchan will be essaying the role of Bheeshmar. This epic movie is based on the Kurukshetra war from Mahabaratha.

There were many speculations about the movie in the past also. Ace filmmaker Hariharan was supposed to do direct the project but it could not materialize. Now according to latest reports, popular ad filmmaker Shrikumar Menon will helm this project.

Academy Award winning music maestro AR Rahman will compose the music while KU Mohanan will handle the cinematography in this movie. Peter Hein, who recently worked in Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan is being considered for choreographing the the action sequences.

The movie will be made in two parts just like Baahubali. It is reported that a popular production company from Mollywood will collaborate with biggies Warner Bros and Reliance Entertainment for funding this movie. The movie is schedules to go on floors by next year after Mohanlal finishes all his other commitments.

The actor will shortly join the second schedule of Major Ravi’s war movie 1971 : Beyond Borders. He has also signed for movies with directors B Unnikrishnan, Vysakh and Prithviraj Sukumaran. All these three movies will be produced by Mohanlal’s home production house Aashirvad Cinemas.
