Bobby Simha to play the villain in Vikram’s in Saamy 2
We had earlier reported that director Hari will be teaming up with Vikram for the sequel of their 2003 blockbuster Saamy. Shibu Thameens, who previously produced Vikram’s Irumugan, will be funding this movie.
Vikram will be reprising his role of Aarusaaamy, the honest and tough cop. Trisha and Keerthy Suresh have been signed to play the female leads. Latest development in the camp is that, Bobby Simha has been roped in to play the antagonist.
Saamy, released in 2003 was a cop action movie. Kota Srinivasa Rao played the antagonist in the movie. His terrific performance as Perumal Pichai is remembered by the audience even today. So it will be a hard task for Bobby Simha to justify his casting.
In a recent interview, director Hari assured that Bobby Simha’s role will be 10 times more intense than Perumal Pichai’s role. Bobby’s role will be as competitive as the lead role of Vikram. He will be sporting two different looks for his role and his combination scenes with Vikram will be the movie’s highlight.
Bobby Simha is known for his power packed performance in roles with grey shades. His amazing portrayal of a Madurai based gangster in Jigarthanda won him a National award for best supporting actor. It will be awesome to watch two great performers like Vikram and Bobby locking horns with each other. Saamy 2 is expected to start rolling as soon as Vikram wraps up his prior commitments. Harris Jayaraj has been roped in to handle the music department for this movie.
Vikram, meanwhile, is busy shooting for Gautham Menon’s spy thriller Dhurva Natchathiram. He recently finished shooting his portions for Sketch, an upcoming mass entertainer directed by Vaalu fame Vijay Chander.
