Check out the latest stills from Vikram’s Saamy Square
Chiyaan Vikram’s much awaited movie, Saamy Square is now in the post-production stage. Saamy Square is the sequel of Vikram’s superhit cop thriller Saamy, which was released back in 2003. Hari, who helmed the first part is directing the sequel as well, which is expected to hit screens very soon.
Last day, the movie’s official motion poster was released in social medias. The motion poster was met with mixed response from the viewers. Many felt a strong resemblance to the director’s own Singam series and also missed the ‘massy’ background score that Harris Jayaraj had composed for the first part. Devi Sri Prasad is handling the music department in Saamy Square.
If reports are to be believed, Saamy Square has Vikram playing a dual role, as Aarusaamy and his son, who is also a cop. Keerthy Suresh is playing the female lead and National award winner Bobby Simha essays the antagonist’s role. A few stills from the movie have been released today in social medias.
Some leaked posters and location stills have led to speculations that Bobby Simha plays the role of Ravana Pichai, the son of Perumal Pichai, who was the villain in the first part. From the stills and motion poster, Saamy Square looks like a typical Hari film with the regular mass masala formula. Prabhu, Delhi Ganesh, John Vijay, Soori and Imman Annachi are also part of the movie’s supporting cast.
Shibu Thameens, who previously produced Vikram’s Irumugan, is funding Saamy Square under the banner of Thameens Films.
