Dhanush confirms that Rajinikanth’s Kaala will hit screens only after 2.0
Superstar Rajinikanth is known for doing only one film at a time. But for the last few months, he had been shooting simultaneously for two movies – 2.0 and Kaala. Works for the former has almost been completed with just a few patch up portions remaining.
He is currently busy shooting for his gangster flick Kaala directed by Pa Ranjith. The movie marks the reunion of Rajinikanth with the three-film-old director after last year’s Kabali.
Recently, there were widespread reports about Kaala releasing before 2.0 by the end of this year. 2.0, directed by Shankar is being made as one of the most expensive Indian films ever.
The movie has been in the making for a long time now. It was initially scheduled to hit screens for this year’s Diwali but got pushed to January 2018 due to post production works.
Certain reports suggested that Kalaa will be releasing before 2.0. However, Dhanush who is producing Kaala has confirmed that it will be hitting screens only after 2.0’s release in January. Only 60% of Kaala has been completed now and the makers are eyeing a summer release next year.
Kaala is about a guy from Tirunelveli, who runs away in his childhood to Mumbai to become a powerful don living in the slums of Dharavi. Rajinikanth is playing the titular role in the movie.
Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is playing the female lead. Nana Patekar, Samuthirakani, Anjali Patil, Sukanya and Sampath Raj will be seen in pivotal roles.
