Dileep launches new scheme; Free eye surgery for 100 people at a cost of 50 lakhs
Actor Dileep launched a new plan to conduct free eye surgery for 100 people in Eye Vision hospital through a new scheme launched under the trust GP Foundation, named after his father. The actor inaugurated the event held in Lions Club hall Chalakudy.
While talking in the event, Dileep shared a touching story about his mother. “While working in the kitchen, some dust fell on my mother’s eyes. We thought she will get fine within two days but the pain worsened. We he took her to the hospital but did not have the money for treatment. She lost vision in one eye. Even after I became an actor and financially well off, that pain is still hurting me. After that whenever I see a blind person, I get reminded of my mother.”

Under the new scheme launched by the actor, Eye Vision Hospital which is also owned by Dileep will conduct eye surgery for 100 patients for free of cost with the government’s approval. Every year they will conduct free eye surgeries which is estimated to cost around 50 lakhs.
In the work front, Dileep is awaiting the release of Georgettan’s Pooram directed by Dr Love fame K Biju. He is currently shooting for Ramaleela directed by debutant Arun Gopi. It is political thriller scripted by writer/filmmaker Sachy and produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam. Ratheesh Ambat’s Kammara Sambhavam, Professor Dinkan and an untitled movie with Vysakh are some of the other movies in his kitty.
