Empuraan might start by the end of this year, reveals Mohanlal
Following the massive success of ‘Lucifer’, a second part for the film was announced by the makers last June. Titled as ‘Empuraan’, the film will mark the reunion of lead actor Mohanlal, director Prithviraj, scriptwriter Murali Gopy and producer Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas.
Though it was announced that shoot will be starting by mid-2020, later reports emerged that the film will get postponed owing to other commitments of the parties involved. Scriptwriter Murali Gopy had also affirmed that shoot will begin only by the end of 2021. However, Mohanlal has now revealed that if things turn out as per their plans, they will go on floors by this year end itself. He disclosed this exciting bit of information during the Vanitha Film Awards held last day at Kochi.
‘Empuraan’ will have Mohanlal returning as Khureshi Ab’raam aka Stephen Nedumbally. Prithviraj, apart from directing the film, will be reprising his role of Zayed Masood. Characters played by Indrajith, Manju Warrier and Tovino Thomas are also expected to be retained.
