Emraan Hashmi shares a photo from the sets of Ezra Hindi remake!
Prithviraj’s 2017 horror flick ‘Ezra’ is getting remade in Hindi with Emraan Hashmi in the lead. Jay R Krishnan, who directed the original, is helming the remake as well. The Hindi version, which is also titled as ‘Ezra’, went on floors last year in July. Due to the Covid-19 threat, shoot was stalled for the last few months. Earlier in the day, Emraan shared a photo taken with director Jay K at the location.
The original ‘Ezra’ starring Prithviraj, Priya Anand and Tovino Thomas was a big commercial success. The film was noted for the novelty in the plot and its top quality production values, a rarity in Malayalam horror films. It is believed to be the first Indian movie with a horror theme set in a Jewish backdrop. It will be interesting to see how the makers have adapted the Hindi version.
Meanwhile, Jay K had also directed a short segment for an anthology that also has films helmed by Venu, Aashiq Abu and Rajeev Ravi. Jay’s film is scripted by Santhosh Echikanam and it stars Joju George and Samyuktha Menon. Earlier this year, the director had announced another film titled ‘Grrr’. Kunchacko Boban and Suraj Venjaramoodu will be playing the lead roles in it. As per the makers, it will be a feel-good comedy entertainer centered around inter-personal relationships. After the compeltion of ‘Ezra’ Hindi remake, Jay is expected to start works on ‘Grrr’.
