Fahadh Faasil reveals that he was offered a role in Rajinikanth’s Petta!
Fahadh Faasil is currently on a high with the success of his latest release, ‘Varathan’. The Amal Neerad directorial has emerged as one of the biggest commercial hits of the year. Fahadh had to opt out of a couple of big projects in Tamil for doing Varathan. It was a big risk but the actor’s conviction has been proved right. Among the projects he could not take up include Karthik Subbaraj’s ‘Petta’ and Mani Ratnam’s multi-starrer ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaananm’ (CCV).
Though CCV’s case was familiar, not many know that Fahadh had also declined an offer to act with superstar Rajinikanth. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he couldn’t take up the project due to his date issues. At the time he was busy shooting for ‘Varathan’. ‘Petta’ is one of the most awaited Tamil movies in recent years. Along with Rajinikanth, the movie has a massive star cast that includes actors like Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Simran, Trisha, Malavika Mohanan, Sasikumar and Megha Akash. It is still not known who replaced Fahadh in the film.
Fahadh made his Tamil debut last year with Mohan Raja’s ‘Velaikkaran’. The movie had him playing a grey-shaded role and his performance was widely appreciated. He has another Tamil movie coming up, ‘Super Deluxe’ directed by ‘Aaranya Kaandam’ fame Thiagaraja Kumararaja. The movie also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha, Mysskin and Ramya Krishnan in major roles. Fahadh has pinned high hopes on the movie, as he firmly believes that it will be among the best works in his career so far.
In Malayalam, Fahadh has ‘Njan Malayali’ with Sathyan Anthikad and ‘Trance’ with Anwar Rasheed coming up.
