Four Malayalam movies including Tiyaan and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum will hit screens for this Ramzan
Festival season is always a great time to release movies. This year’s Vishu season witnessed the release of nearly 5 movies within a gap of two weeks. Now, Ramzan is fast approaching and Malayalam cinema once again has some highly exciting movies lined up for release.
Prithviraj-Indrajith starrer Tiyaan, Fahadh Faasil’s long delayed Role Models, Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Oru Cinemakkaran and Fahadh-Dileesh Pothen team’s Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum are the four Malayalam movies that will hit screens for the Ramzan season.
Tiyaan is a big budget that has some big names associated with. The movie is written by Murali Gopi and directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar. Tiyaan has an star studded cast that includes Prithviraj, Indrajith, Murali Gopy, Padmapriya, Ananya and Shine Tom Chacko among others. The movie is said to be a socio-political drama set in the North Indian milieu. It is about two youths who get caught in the religious clashes in North India. Prithviraj is playing the character of Aslan Mohammed while Indrajith’s character is named as Pattabhiraman in the movie. The team shot for months in North Indian locations like Varanasi, Ladakh etc. Huge sets resembling the North Indian locales were erected in the Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad. They shot for around 100 days in different schedules there. Tiyaan is produced by Haneef Mohammed of Red Rose Creations on a budget of around Rs 25 crores.
Fahadh Faasil starrer Role Models has long been in the making. The movie, directed by Rafi is touted to be a fun filled entertainer. Role Models stars Namitha Pramod as the female lead. Srinda Arhaan, Vinayakan, Vinay Forrt, Sharafudheen, Renji Panicker, Seetha and many others will be seen in supporting roles. Gopi Sunder has handled the music department while Shyam Dutt has cranked the camera. The movie is produced by GP Vijayakumar under the banner of Seven Arts.
Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Oru Cinemakkaran is also gearing up for a Ramzan release. The movie is directed by Payyans fame Leo Thaddeus. Vineeth is playing the character Alby, an aspiring filmmaker in this movie. Rajisha Vijayan will be seen as Vineeth’s pair in the movie. Renji Panicker, Lal, Vijay Babu, Anusree, Murali Gopy, Lalu Alex and Harish Kanaran are also part of the cast. Cinematography is handled by Sudheer Surendran while Bijibal has composed the music.
Fahadh Faasil’s Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum marks his second time union with director Dileesh Pothen after the widely acclaimed Maheshinte Prathikaram. The movie stars Fahadh Faasil, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Alencier Ley Lopez and debutante Nimisha Sajayan in the major roles. Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum is said to be a realistic entertainer revolving around the story of four different people and how law and order affects their lives. It is written by journalist Sajeev Pazhoor and produced under the banner of Urvashi Theatres. Renowned cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Rajeev Ravi has cranked the camera for this movie. Bijibal has handled the music department. The success of Dileesh Pothen- Fahadh Faasil team’s Maheshinte Prathikaram has sky rocketed the expectations for Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum.
Altogether, we have a mouthwatering season awaiting us this Ramzan. Let’s hope all the four movies entertain the audience and enjoy a fair run in the theatres.
