Georgettan’s Pooram not to compete with The Great Father, release postponed again
Actor Dileep has not had a release for nearly six months. His last release was Sundar Das’s Welcome to Central Jail, which was disaster at the box office. His upcoming release Georgettan’s Pooram was initially scheduled to release in Decemeber last year but the makers postponed it fearing backlash from the audience after Dileep’s wedding with Kavya Madhavan, that evoked a lot of criticism for the actor.
Soon, the cinema strike was called for by the Exhibitors Federation and the movie had to be pushed to March 31. Now, we hear that the release has been postponed yet again.
Mammootty’s highly anticipated The Great Father (TGF) is also releasing on the same weekend. This revenge thriller directed by debutant Haneef Adeni is expected to register a massive opening in the box office. So the makers of the Dileep starrer have decided not to release their movie alongside TGF.
Dileep is also caught up with some unwanted controversies after his name was dragged into the recent actress assault case. Though the police and the actress’ family have denied his involvement in the case, several online medias and newspapers reported that he was questioned by the police for investigation. So, the makers are also apprehensive about releasing the movie during this time.
