It’s a hat-trick for Tovino Thomas!
Tovino Thomas’ latest outing Godha has opened to extremely positive reports from all the release centres. The movie has been given a clean chit by the critics as well.
Godha, directed by Kunjiramayanam fame Basil Joseph is Tovino’s third release of the year. The other two movies- Ezra and Oru Mexican Aparatha were both commercially successful. If Godha can pounce on the great opening, it will be three on a row for Tovino Thomas.
Eventhough, his was a cameo role in Ezra, it was noted by everyone. He played the role of ACP Shafeer in the horror thriller starring Prithviraj and Priya Anand in the lead roles. Despite appearing for a very less screen time, Tovino with his body language and perfomance made sure people take notice of him.
Oru Mexican Aparatha, the campus political drama directed by Tom Emmatty was his second release this year. The movie featured Tovino in a dual role, a first in his career. It was made on a very small budget of around Rs 2 crores but managed to rake in an overall business of over Rs 20 crores. Tovino’s star value increased after Oru Mexican Aparatha and the results are there to be seen in Godha.
In Basil Joseph’s Godha, Tovino played the role of Anjaneya Das. He worked hard for the movie, took formal training in wrestling and developed a strong physique. The actor displayed the flexibility he possesses with his performance in Godha. His transformation from a happy going young man to a more matured person was very convincing.
Tovino currently has some exciting projects in his kitty. His next release will be Tharangam, a black comedy featuring him once again in the role of a policeman. He is also playing the lead in Aashiq Abu’s next apart from working on his Tamil debut directed by BR Vijayalakshmi. There’s more to come from this wonderful actor!
