I was highly excited after reading Tiyaan’s script for the first time: Prithviraj
Tiyaan, one of the most Malayalam movies of the year is all set to release this Thursday (June 29). The movie starring Prithviraj and Indrajith in the lead roles is directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar. Murali Gopy has scripted this movie which is touted to be a socio-political drama.
From whatever little we to got to see in the promos and trailers, Tiyaan is something unseen in Mollywood. Prithviraj reiterated the same in a recent interview. He said that Tiyaan is a movie that belongs to multiple genres. It is not about a single person or does not revolve around a single incident. It discusses about a particular time period, a locality and culture.
Prithviraj says, “I was very excited when I first read this script. But it was later that I realized the story cannot be easily narrated to anyone. It is a crisscross of multiple genres. Murali has written a very detailed script. The issues discussed in this movie has not been told on big screen before.”
Both the lead actors, Prithviraj and Indrajith have mentioned that their characters in Tiyaan as the most complex and challenging ones they ever had to perform. Besides scripting the movie, he is also playing a pivotal part as Ramakant Mahasay.
Tiyaan boasts of a huge star cast that includes Padmapriya, Ananya, Shine Tom Chacko, Mrudula Sathe, veteran Hindi actor Ranjeeth, Rahul Madhav, Shine Tom Chacko, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Prakash Bare and Paris Lakshmi and many others. It is said to be one of the most expensive Malayalam movies to have released till date. Haneef Mohammed of Red Rose Creations funded the movie with a budget of around Rs 25 crores.
