I’m a great fan of Sathyan Anthikad sir’s movies: Vijay Sethupathi
Vijay Sethupathi is one of the most talented actors in South Indian cinema. The actor has been making waves with his movies in Tamil Nadu. Unlike his contemporaries, Vijay Sethupathi is not tied down by the baggage of expectations. He is a versatile actor who has showcased his impeccable acting skills in both class and mass-masala movies.
Vijay Sethupathi has often expressed his admiration for Malayalam cinema and the artists here. In a recent interview to a Malayalam channel, the actor, who started from a humble background, opened up about his respect for some of the legendary Malayalam filmmakers.
He is quoted saying, “While I was working as a junior artist, I used to watch a kto of Malayalam movies of directors like Bharathan, Kamal sir. I’m a great fan of Sathyan Anthikad sir’s movies. I have watched his movies like Bhagyadevatha, an awesome one and Veendum Chila Veetu Karyangal.”
On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi has around six to seven projects in his kitty. He is currently shooting for Seethakathi, directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan. Gokul’s Junga, C Prem Kumar’s 96 and Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe are some of his projects in the pipeline. He is also part of a couple of big ticket films – the Telugu multistarrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Mani Ratnam’s next movie.
