Rajesh Pillai had become one of the popular directors of Mollywood with a single film that really changed the course of Malayalam cinema. Yes, we are talking about Traffic (2011). The style of making, the way of storytelling and later the super success of the film had given a new face to Malayalam and Rajesh Pillai as a director shot to fame with that single film of him. As a director, he did not had the best beginning as his first film titled Hridayathil Sookshikkan (2005) with Kunchacko Boban and Bhavana in the lead failed miserably at the box office.
But the comeback he made with Traffic was really inspiring and it exhibited how talented he is as a director and proved his potential as a filmmaker. Then, he took a long break and came back with another film named Mili (2015) which had Nivin Pauly and Amala Paul in the lead. Even though the movie was very well acclaimed by the critics the flick did not receive good response from the Mollywood box office. The woman centric storyline was not welcomed by the ones who wanted a film like Traffic. The people expected an out and out entertainer when they saw Nivin Pauly in the cast but it was a disappointment.
Now as per reports, the director is all set to make his 4th Mollywood film and reportedly he had roped in actors Kunchacko Boban and Jayasurya to play the lead roles in the film which is said to be a Psychological thriller which deals with 3 main characters. Apart from Jayasurya and Kunchacko Boban, the female character in the movie also play an important lead role in this flick and as per sources it will be a popular South Indian actress.
Rajesh Pillai had earlier planned to do a film with Kunchacko Boban and Nivin Pauly in the lead which was titled Motorcycle Diaries and later dropped it due to unknown reasons. He also has a big film coming up named Lucifer which will be scripted by Murali Gopi and starred by none other than the universal star Mohanlal. Kunchacko Boban is said to be a part of that film too which will be financed by Ashirvad cinemas.
