Buzz Around Aadu Franchise Grows: Talks of Five-Part Saga as Part 3 Rolls
The cult-favourite Aadu franchise is making headlines again, not just for the filming of its third chapter Aadu 3: One Last Ride, but also for the growing buzz that the series might evolve into a five-part saga. While Aadu 3 is currently on floors with Jayasurya reprising his iconic role as Shaji Pappan, reports suggest that the fourth part’s story has already been locked — further fueling speculation about the franchise’s ambitious future.
Director Midhun Manuel Thomas, who returns to helm the third installment, has hinted at a genre shift, calling Aadu 3 an “epic fantasy.” This move marks a fresh direction from the franchise’s established slapstick style, exciting longtime fans. The beloved ensemble cast — including Saiju Kurup, Sunny Wayne, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Vinayakan, and others — is back in action, with Vijay Babu producing under the Friday Film House banner.
Originally debuting in 2015, the Aadu films gained massive popularity over time, especially after Aadu 2 became a blockbuster in 2017. Now, with Aadu 3 set for a December 25, 2025 release, fans are buzzing not only about Shaji Pappan’s return but also the possibility of two more chapters rounding off one of Malayalam cinema’s most eccentric franchises.
