Mammootty’s upcoming release is Utopiayile Rajavu and it will reach to theaters near you in this coming Onam season. Mammoottys own Playhouse Release is distributing the film and is now in its post-production stage. Actor Joy Mathew is playing a key role in this film and that is of Mammootty’s father. The interesting thing is that Joy Mathew is younger than Mammootty and another interesting info also is there that Joy Mathew had played the father character of Dulquer Salmaan in Neelakasham Pacha Kadal Chuvanna Bhoomi as well. It is a unique opportunity for him to play the father character of both Mammootty and Dulquar in two different movies. Joy Mathew said that he had played the father-in-Law character of Mohanlal as well in Joshiey directorial film Lailaa O Lailaa as well.
In Utopiayile Rajavu Mammootty is playing the character of CP Swathanthran who is the son of the earlier Panchayath President of the village named Kokrankara. It is an imaginary village. When his father dies one of the relative of his took all the properties of his father illegally. So CP Swathanthran is all set to fight against it legally and through strikes. For that purpose he comes to secretariat in Trivandrum as well.
The flick has been directed by Kamal an written by PS Rafeeq who is famous for his screenplay for the film by Lijo Jose Pellissery title as Amen. This film Utopiayile Rajavu is telling the story through balck comedy as well as in a satirical manner. Along with Mammootty actors like Joy Mathew, Sunil Sugatha, Sreekumar, Indrans, Sasi Kalinga, etc playing important roles and the female lead was played by Jewel Mary who was made her debut as Mammootty’s heroine in the film named Pathemari directed by Salim Ahammed which is yet to release in theaters. She is playing the character of an activist named Uma in this film.
Haseeb Haneef and Noushad Alathur finance this flick under the banner of Grand film corporation. Dop is Neil D’cunha and music was given by ousepachan. Suresh Kollam is the art director of the flick.
