Karthi’s Khaidi is a welcome change to the industry: Mahesh Babu
Karthi’s latest release ‘Kaithi’ has entered its second week of theatrical run and continues to do well at all centres. The film is nearing the Rs 50 crore mark from its worldwide gross and has already been declared a hit. The film is doing particularly well outside Tamil Nadu in states like Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telengana.
Since Karthi enjoys a big fan base in the Telugu speaking states, ‘Kaithi’ was dubbed and released in Telugu as ‘Khaidi’. The film has emerged as a huge success there. Recently, Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu had tweeted in praise of the film. He called it a product of new age filmmaking and since it is devoid of songs and other usual commercial elements, Mahesh sees it as a welcome change. His tweet reads,
