Leading actor from Bollywood to play Odiyan Manikyan’s guru!!
Shoot for the much talked about Odiyan is nearing completion. The movie directed by Shrikumar Menon has Mohanlal, Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier in the lead roles. As per trustworthy reports, a leading actor from Bollywood will be joining the team very soon. Odiyan, scripted by National award winner Harikrishnan is primarily about ‘odividya’, a kind of black magic. People who practice it are called ‘odiyans’.
Mohanlal plays odiyan Manikyan in the movie. The story is set in three different timelines starting from the pre-electricty days in the 1950s to 2000. The narrative follows Manikyan’s life from his childhood to his 60s. The makers are currently in talks with a prominent actor from Bollywood to play a cameo role as Mankiyan’s guru. While some rumors were doing the rounds about Mammootty doing this role, it has already been dismissed by the makers as baseless.
Superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s name has been associated with Odiyan, ever since the movie was announced. Considering Bachchan’s rapport with Mohanlal and filmmaker Shrikumar Menon, with whom he was worked in a number of ad films, chances are very high for him being a part of this upcoming movie. The makers are being tight-lipped and have not yet given an official word regarding the same.
Meanwhile, shoot is progressing at a brisk pace as they have planned to pack up by the end of April. Earlier this week, the team was in Athirappilly for a song shoot. Kala Master was seen choreographing the song sequence which apparently features Mohanlal and Manju Warrier. M Jayachandran has composed the songs and Sam CS of ‘Vikram Vedha’ fame is handling the background score for Odiyan.
