Lokesh Kanagaraj confirms reuniting up with Vijay for Thalapathy 67
Speculations about Vijay reuniting with ‘Master’ director Lokesh Kanagaraj have been doing the rounds for a long time now. The director has finally confirmed the same. At a recently held awards ceremony, Lokesh revealed that he will be directing ‘Thalapathy 67’ and that the official announcement will be out soon. When asked if the film will be class or mass, the young filmmakers said that it will be a mix of both. If reports are to be believed, 7 Screen Studio, the co-producers of ‘Master’, will be backing ‘Thalapathy 67’.
Meanwhile, Lokesh’s highly-awaited ‘Vikram’ is gearing up to hit screens on June 3. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil as the leads. Touted to be an action-packed entertainer, the film also has Suriya in a cameo role.
Vijay, on the other hand, is shooting for ‘Thalapathy 66’ with Telugu filmmaker Vamshi Paidapally. Sri Venkateswara Creations, one of the leading banners in Tollywood, are foraying into Tamil industry with this film. Said to be a family-based entertainer, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha. It has been confirmed as a Pongal 2023 release.
