The Mahabarata to be released in 100 languages
Recently, a massive announcement was made by Mohanlal about the much talked about Randamoozham. The movie adaptation of MT Vasudevan Nair’s award winning novel has been titled as The Mahabarata and will be directed by popular ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon.
The movie is being produced by Dr BR Shetty, Founder and Chairman of UAE Exchange and NMC Healthcare. The Mahabarata will be the most expensive Indian movie ever as they are planning to invest a whopping Rs 1000 crores (150 million USD) for production.
In a recent statement given to media by Dr B R Shetty, he revealed that the movie will be released in 100 languages. The movie will be made as a multilingual in English, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. It will also be dubbed into all major Indian and foreign languages.
Dr BR Shetty said, “The Mahabharata is an epic of all epics. This movie will be a true ‘Make in India’ made for the world. The Mahabharata mesmerizes as well as brings focus on life and living. I believe that this film will not only set global benchmarks, but also reposition India and its prowess in mythological storytelling. I am confident that this film will be adapted in over 100 languages and reach over 3 billion people across the world. Importantly, am awestruck by the fantastic screenplay by Sri. MT and I have tremendous faith in the ability of V.A. Shrikumar to paint this narrative on celluloid. His passion and energy are boundless.”
This epic movie will be filmed in two parts and would have a worldwide release in 2020. Shoot for the movie will commence by 2018 September. The second part of the movie would be released within 90 days of the first part.
Randamoozham is based on the Hindu epic Mahabharatha and is told from Bheemasenan’s perspective. Mohanlal would be playing the role of Bheeman in this epic drama. Other leading actors from Indian cinema and Hollywood will be part of this big budget movie. The technical crew will also have some best talents from across the globe.
