Major Ravi responds to fake news against Mohanlal
There were reports that Mohanlal’s honorary Lieutenant Colonel post will be taken by the Defence Ministry for allegedly using the Army uniform for commercial purposes.
Director Major Ravi has now lashed out against these reports. He has said that the issue was sorted out back in 2011 and it is the same news that has started to surface in social media pages again.
Mohanlal was caught up in a controversy after he allegedly used his Army Uniform for acting in an advertisement for the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival, an initiative by the State government.
According to the reports, the actor was wearing more medals than what was conferred to him. Apparently, this was against the rules of the Army.
Major Ravi said “The incident happened back in October 2011. It was sorted out with the Defence Minister AK Antony and Mohanlal was cleared of all the allegations.
Those who are publishing these fake reports are doing it purely out of jealousy. Mohanlal has visited the Line of Control (LoC) and the soldiers there two times recently.
He was even awarded with a commendation card for his service by the Northern Command. Even then people are cooking up stories and trying to bring him down.
Major Ravi’s next movie is 1971 : Beyond Borders starring Mohanlal in the lead. The movie based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan, is currently under progress in the desserts of Rajasthan.
