Mammootty starrer flick named Pathemari conceived by Salim Ahamed is all set to hit the screens all over Kerala on 9th of October. Mammootty himself posted this update with a new poster of the film on his official Facebook page today. Earlier the film was planned to release before the Onam season. But a case filed against the film by somebody and they had to postpone the film due to a stay issued by court as per reports. Onam season was also not available for release as Mammootty’s another film Uttopyayile Rajavu had already scheduled release as the Onam film of the star.
Later the film had scheduled to release on September 18th of this month.
But a flurry of release and also the theater strike by Cine Exhibitors association made them to postpone the film again. Then some reports came that it will come the next week itself but that too did not happened as the film did not get much theaters due to wide release of the upcoming Vijay starrer Puli which will come tomorrow all over the world. So now it has been finalized that Pathemari will be there before you all on the 9th of October.
Pathemari has raised great expectation with the news which came telling that the film was in the Oscar race from India. It was nominated among the list of films which competed for the official entry of India to Oscar awards this year. Eros International after marking their entry to Mollywood through Dileep-Jeethu Joseph team’s Life of Josootty is distributing Pathemari. The film has a lot of talented and award winning artists and technicians in it to boast of such as Mammootty, Sreenivasan, Balachandra Menon, Salim Kumar, Siddique as artists, DOP Madhu Ambat, Director Salim Ahamed, Sound designer Rasool Pookutty etc.
The film which tells us the story of the malayalees who works in gulf countries and about the first generation of Malayalees who went to gulf countries in search for a job and for a better life here at Kerala. The film discusses about the problems, struggles and failures they had to face and also shows us how they stood up to all those things.
