Mammootty’s Peranbu gears up for release in Japan
Peranbu continues to get excellent response from the audience, particularly in Kerala. It is after a long while that Mammootty has done a movie that does true justice to his true potential. Peranbu caught attention even before its release after the unanimously positive reviews it won at the international film festivals. The movie’s world premier was held at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR). It secured 20th position amongst the 187 films considered for the audience award category at the festival. It was also nominated for the NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema) award.
The Asian premier of Peranbu was held at the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival, which was followed by the Indian premiere at International Film Festival of India, Goa. Now the movie is set for release in Japan. Peranbu will be screened on February 11 at SKIP City Visual Plaza, Kawaguchi. Peranbu directed by Ram revolves around an affectionate father and his spastic teenager daughter. The movie explorers several taboos in the society. It has an universal subject and will appeal to the Japanese audience as well.
