Manju Warrier to play the female lead in Mohanlal’s Lucifer?
The much talked about Mohanlal starrer Lucifer is slated to go on floors from July this year. Actor Prithviraj is making his directorial debut with this movie scripted by Murali Gopy. Antony Perumbavoor is producing the movie under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
Latest buzz is that Manju Warrier has been signed as the female lead for the movie. The makers are yet to give an official word regarding this. If it turns out to be true, this will be Manju’s seventh outing with the superstar and fourth after she made her comeback in 2014 with How Old Are You. The two have produced sparkling performances in films like Aaraam Thampuran, Kanmadam, Villain etc.
Lucifer is a hugely hyped project, wait for which started two years back when Mohanlal made a surprise announcement that he will playing the lead in Prithviraj’s directorial debut, to be scripted by Murali Gopy. Ever since then, fans as well as the common audience have been eager to hear updates about the movie but the makers have remained tight-lipped all this while.
Not much is known about the movie; the makers have maintained utmost secrecy regarding the proceedings, so much so that even the genre is unknown. According to the makers, it will be a mass entertainer pertaining to audience of all age groups. Script works have already been completed and pre-production works are currently progressing.
Prithviraj has hinted that Lucifer, like all Murali Gopy scripts, will be an intense film that demands strong performances from the actors. Speculations are rife that a promising young actor will be essaying a major role alongside Mohanlal in Lucifer. Names like Indrajith, Tovino Thomas and Shane Nigam are doing the rounds, but the makers are yet to announce the cast and crew.
Prithviraj is currently shooting in Himalayas for his sci-fi movie 9, which also marks his maiden production venture. Mohanlal on the other hand has wrapped up Odiyan and will soon be flying to England for the shoot of Ranjith’s Bilathikadha. The actor has allotted around 45 days for the movie after which he will be joining the sets of Lucifer.
Reportedly, Lucifer’s shoot will be commencing on July 10 in Kochi. Trivandrum and Mumbai are said to be the other major locations.
