Mohanlal celebrates his Padma Bhushan win with Marakkar team
After receiving the Padma Bhushan award from the honourable President of, Mohanlal has returned back to Hyderabad to join the sets of ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’. Earlier in the day, team had a small celebration at the location to honour Mohanlal. Suneil Shetty, Nedumudi Venu, director Priyadarshan and production designer Sabu Cyril were present for the cake cutting.
Padma Bhushan, the country’s third highest civilian award, is the latest feather on Mohanlal’s four decade long remarkable acting career. A winner of multiple National awards, the veteran actor has worked in over 300 films. Though he predominately starred in Malayalam movies, he has also done some notable roles in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi movies.
In the ongoing ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’, he plays the role of a Kunjali Marakkar IV, the naval chieftain of Zamorins who fought against the invading Portugese army in the 15th century.The movie is being made on a mega budget of Rs 100 crores and is getting ready as the biggest film in Malayalam cinema history.
