Mohanlal in full-fledged role in Mahesh Narayanan’s Epic Film ‘MMMN’
Malayalam cinema enthusiasts are in for a treat as director Mahesh Narayanan brings together two of its biggest icons, Mohanlal and Mammootty, for his ambitious project tentatively titled MMMN. Breaking a decade-long hiatus, the duo is set to return in full-fledged roles, creating a buzz across the industry.
The movie boasts a powerhouse cast, including Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Darshana Rajendran, Revathy, and Rajiv Menon. According to Mahesh, the film was originally conceptualized with Mammootty as the central character, while Fahadh was initially attached as a producer. However, a change in plans allowed Fahadh to step in as an actor, making way for Mohanlal to join the team in a significant role.
Speaking about the casting, Mahesh Narayanan clarified that every actor in this ensemble will have deeply engaging and performance-heavy roles, including Mohanlal, who will not just appear as a guest but as a key part of the narrative.
The director, celebrated for critically acclaimed films like Take Off, Malik, and C U Soon, has drawn inspiration from the golden era of Malayalam cinema, specifically the socially and politically charged films of the 1980s. With MMMN, he aims to revisit that cinematic essence while exploring the unparalleled acting prowess of Mammootty and Mohanlal in his signature style of storytelling.
Production for the film commenced in Sri Lanka in November 2024, marking the beginning of what is expected to be a landmark venture in Malayalam cinema. With its stellar cast and high expectations, MMMN is already shaping up to be a cinematic milestone eagerly awaited by fans worldwide.
