Mohanlal is one of the best actor in the world : Prakash Raj
101 days success celebration of Mohanlal- Priyadarshan team’s latest outing was held recently in Kochi. The event was a star studded one with many prominent actors and film personalities gracing the occasion. Kollywood actor Prakash Raj who was in town for a shooting also attended the event. The actor shares a very good relationship with Mohanlal and Priyadarshan. Prakash Raj has won a national award for his performance in Priyadarshan’s Kancheevaram. He also played the lead in the director’s critically acclaimed Sila Samayangalil which was screened at many film festivals across the globe.
Prakash Raj showered praise on Mohanlal, his co-star in Iruvar, while taking in the event. He said, “As someone who has got to know world cinema very closely and having the privilege to worked with many great masters I can certainly say, Mohanlal is one of the world’s best actors.”
“We both have worked together twenty years back in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar. That time, I had started my career whereas Mohanlal was already an established actor. Even today I remember our first combination scene. I had to take around 20 rehearsals for that scene and he acted in all those takes sportingly. That is only because of his greatness. In fact, those trainings made me into an actor that I am today.”
Prakash Raj won the National award for best supporting actor for his performance in Iruvar while Mohanlal missed a well deserved award by a whisker.
The veteran actor is making a comeback to Mollywood after a gap of seven years through Jayaram’s Achayans directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam. He was last seen in Mollywood in Prithviraj’s Anwar back in 2010.
