Mohanlal to play Major Mahadevan’s father in 1971 War, says Major Ravi
It has been a big news when it came that Mohanlal- Major Ravi team is uniting again for a Military film and as per reports the film will be based on the India- Pakistan war that happened in the year 1971. There were reports that Mohanlal may play triple role in it. But now the report coming from Major Ravi himself, says that Mohanlal is playing the character of the famous character Major Mahadevan in this film. As the film is happening around the time period of 1971, the central character or the focus of the story will be on the father figure of Major Mahadevan, who will be played by Mohanlal.
Major Mahadevan is undoubtedly the most popular Military character we ever seen in Mollywood and the character first came through the film named Kirthichakra. It was the directorial debut of Major Ravi and was a super successful film as well. Then he came again through the film named Kurukshetra, this time as Colonel Mahadevan. It was a Major Ravi film based on the Kargil War and it was too a box office success. But the last outing of Colonel Mahadevan was not a success and it was through the film named Kandahar based on an aeroplane hijack. Now through this film, 1971 War, that character is coming back. But the focus this time will be on his father character.
Major Ravi says that there will be war sequences in the film but it will be an emotionally deep film as well which gives us the mental conflicts of the soldiers that guards the border of both India and Pakistan. Major Ravi says he is now looking for an actor who can play the main role of Pakistani Army leader. He already contacted some Punjab based actors but not confirmed their participation yet.
They are waiting for the permission of Indian army to shoot in some high security areas in Punjab and Rajastan. They hopes that can be able to start filming in the coming May. Mollywood film lovers are eagerly waiting see Mohanlal’s Military avatar again on screen.
