Mohanlal, Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan not part of SS Rajamouli’s Mahabharata
Recently, reports were doing the rounds in social medias about superstars Mohanlal, Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan starring in SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Mahabharata.
However, sources close to the director have dismissed all the reports. The director in a recent interview has said that the movie can only be made in a span of five to six years. If big stars come on board, they would have to move aside their dates for 5 to 6 years without any other engagement.
He also added that he will have to create new stars for the film, like how they did in the popular English TV show Game of Thrones.
Speculations about the superstars involvement in the project triggered after Aamir Khan expressed his desire to play the role of Krishna if Rajamouli is planning to make Baahubali. He said this recently when he was in Hyderabad for the promotions of Dangal. Also there were specualtions about Rajamouli planning a movie with Mohanlal. A self confessed Mohanlal fan, the director had earlier mentioned that he would love to make a movie with Mohanlal.
Script works for the movie will begin soon and it is expected to go on floors in 2018. The movie is being planned on a bigger scale than Baahuabli.
The director meanwhile is busy with the post-production work of the second part in the Baahubali series, Baahubali The Conclusion. The magnum opus is scheduled to hit screens on April 28.
