Mohanlal replaces Mammootty in Ranjith’s Bilathikadha!!
We had earlier reported about ace filmmaker Ranjith’s upcoming movie ‘Bilathikadha’. The director, who has mostly helmed movies with big stars has roped in relatively newcomers for his new movie. Maniyanpilla Raju’s son Niranj and Anu Sithara are playing the lead roles in the movie, scripted jointly by Ranjith and Sethu.
Bilathikadha is set entirely in England and shoot is scheduled to start this coming March. Mammootty was supposed to play a brief cameo role in the movie but as per latest reports the other big M, Mohanlal has replaced him. Reportedly, Mohanlal will be appearing as himself in the movie. Though it is a guest role, the character has a lot of prominence in the plot. The superstar has allotted ten days from his busy schedule for this movie.
Mohanlal shares a great rapport with Ranjith as they have previously worked together in a number of films. In fact, the latter made his directorial debut, Ravanaprabhu, with Mohanlal in the lead. Some of their films include Chandrolsavam, Rock & Roll, Spirit and Loham. As per reports, the director is also planning another movie with Mohanlal.
Ranjith’s Bilathikadha has a strong supporting cast. It includes Kaniha, Jewel Mary, Kalabhavan Shajon, Suresh Krishna, Kaniha Dileesh Pothan and Kottayan Nazeer among others. Prashanth Nair will be cranking the camera and Sandeep is in charge of the edits. This upcoming movie is being produced by Maha Subair under the banner of Varnachitra Big Screen.
