Mohanlal’s epic project Randamoozham to start rolling next January!
It has been a while since we last heard about Mohanlal’s Randamoozham. Amidst rumours that the project has been shelved, comes reports about the team planning to go on floors early next year. Apparently, the makers are currently working on the pre-production and casting process. The movie will be directed by VA Shrikumar Menon, whose directorial debut ‘Odiyan’ also with Mohnalal is slated for release this year.
Randamoozham is based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s award winning novel of the same name. The novel is actually based on the Indian epic Mahabharatha, but told from the perspective of Bheemasenan. Mohanlal is playing the central character of Bheeman in the movie. Apart from him other leading actors from Indian cinema and Hollywood also will be part of the movie.
Certain reports suggest that the makers have approached stars like Jackie Chan, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu and Ajay Devgn but an official word has not yet been made regarding the casting. The movie is being planned on an enormous budget of Rs 1000 crores, so the makers have assured that the world’s best available technicians will be part of it.
Randamoozham aka The Mahabharata will be made as a multilingual in English, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages. It will also be dubbed into all major Indian and foreign languages. The movie will be made in two parts with the second installment hitting screens within three months time from the first part’s release. The makers are eyeing to release the first part by 2020. UAE based businessman Dr BR Shetty is producing this epic project. A grand official launch is expected to be held sometime by the end of this year.
