Mohanlal’s Lieutenant Colonel post to be taken back ?
Mohanlal was formally inducted to the Territorial Army in the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2009. He is the first and only Indian actor to get the prestigious post.
But now the post is on the verge of being taken away by the Territorial Army. Apparently, the actor had allegedly misused his Army uniform for commercial purposes in Kerala government advertisements to promote tourism.
The actor had allegedly charged a whopping 50 lakhs for being part of the campaign.
Mohanlal acted in a television advertisement during the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival promoted by the state Government in 2011.

The actor was seen a National Security Guard (NSG) commando from the 1971 war in the advertisement. But allegedly he was wearing more medals than what was conferred to him. According to the officers this was against the rules of the Army.
Ex-Brigadier CP Joshy has alleged that this act by Mohanlal was a disgrace to the entire Army Force. He has filed a written complaint to the Defence Ministry and has asked the department to take back the honorary post given to Mohanlal.
