Mohanlal’s Thudarum Postponed; Empuraan to Be His First Release of 2025
Mohanlal’s much-anticipated family drama Thudarum, directed by National Award-winner Tharun Moorthy, will not hit the screens on its initially planned release date of January 30, 2025. As per reports, technical delays in post-production and the OTT deal have led to the postponement. The team has been tight-lipped, with no updates on the teaser or release date, leaving fans curious.
With Empuraan, the sequel to Lucifer, already locked for release on March 27, 2025, Thudarum is now speculated to arrive in May 2025. This reshuffle makes Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mohanlal’s first release of the year.
In Thudarum, Mohanlal plays Shanmugham, a taxi driver from the Ranni village of Kerala. Shobana takes on the female lead, reuniting with Mohanlal after years, adding to the excitement. The ensemble cast includes Maniyanpilla Raju, Farhaan Faasil, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, and Binu Pappu.
The film, produced by M Renjith under Rejaputhra Films, boasts music by Jakes Bejoy and cinematography by Shaji Kumar. With high expectations surrounding both Thudarum and Empuraan, 2025 promises to be an exciting year for Mohanlal fans.
