Mohanlal’s Thudarum Races Towards ₹80 Crore Worldwide in Just 4 Days
Tharun Moorthy’s Thudarum, starring the legendary Mohanlal, continues its phenomenal box office run, moving close to an ₹80 crore worldwide gross in just four days. After a roaring weekend, the film has already grossed ₹68 crore+ in three days globally, firmly establishing itself as the second biggest opening worldwide grosser in Mollywood history—only behind Mohanlal’s own Empuraan, which amassed a staggering ₹175 crore in its opening weekend.
Produced by M. Renjith under Rejaputhra Visual Media, Thudarum follows the life of a taxi driver, Shanmugham, and how a tragic incident revolving around his beloved car shatters his peaceful family life. The film’s Kerala gross touched ₹20 crore+ in three days, while its overseas performance has been equally stunning—₹27 crore+ from Gulf countries, ₹6 crore+ from America, ₹4 crore+ from Britain, and nearly ₹3 crore from Australia and New Zealand. The rest of India contributed ₹7 crore+ in three days, highlighting the massive reach of the film.
With this momentum, Thudarum has already overtaken Rekhachithram and Alappuzha Gymkhana to become the second highest grosser of the year, trailing only behind Empuraan, which has grossed ₹265 crore worldwide so far. Mohanlal once again proves why he remains Kerala’s ultimate box office king!
