New feat for Malayalam cinema through Ezra
Prithviraj’s latest release Ezra is continuing it’s glorious run with housefull boards in full swing. The movie is releasing outside Kerala today in 154 screens. It is the biggest ever release for a Malayalam movie outside Kerala.
Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore, Surat, Ludhiana, Gwalior, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Indore, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Chennai, Vellore, Coimbatore etc. are some of the major cities where Ezra will be releasing today. The movie is releasing outside Kerala with English subtitles for non-Malayalis also to enjoy the experience.
Back in Kerala, the movie had a biggest ever opening for a Prithviraj starrer. From unofficial reports, it is almost confirmed that the movie has gone past the 15 crore mark. Pre- release hype helped the movie a great deal to take such a big opening in the box office.
Prior to the release, Prithviraj and the Ezra team had assured that the movie will be a new experience for all Malayalis who are used to watch horror comedies. It is the first honest horror thriller in Mollywood after a very long time. The movie also has Jewish backdrop, a theme that has only been used rarely in Indian cinema. Technically also the movie stands right up there with some of the big budget movies of the Bollywood. The makers have delivered a quality product working within the limitations of the industry.
Mukesh R. Mehta, C. V. Sarathy and A. V. Anoop have jointly produced the movie under the banners of E4 Entertainment and AVA Productions.
Sujith Vaassudev is the cinematographer while youngster Sushin Shyam has handled the music department. Rahul Raj composed the song Lailakame. Vivek Harshan is the editor.
Priya Anand, Tovino Thomas, Sudev Nair, Bharat Dabholkar, Ann Sheetal Vijayaraghavan and Babu Antony have essayed pivotal characters in the movie.
