No blogs and hence no controversies this months from Mohanlal
Mohanlal apart from being the reigning superstar of the industry for the past three decades has always been a socially committed personality. He has frequently voiced his opinions about several issues through his blogs. Every month Mohanlal updates his blog about any particular topic that he feels is relevant to address. Sadly, there will be no blog this month from Mohanlal.
The actor himself announced it through the blog with a heading “Sorry friends”. The reason for no blogs this month is because he is busy traveling and enjoying the vacation with his family. The actor and family is currently in US for the Christmas season.
Mohanlal has written blogs about current situations, about close friends and their memories, his experiences with the Army. He has even written letters to God through the blog on his birthday.
Some of the popular blogs from Mohanlal are the ones he wrote during the JNU issue, the one supporting the Kiss of Love movement and more recently the one supporting demonetisation. All these blogs spurred huge controversies with debates across the social media pages over the actor’s stand in the issues.
Last month he wrote a blog supporting the central government’s demonetisation move by calling it a brave initiative taken for the betterment of the country. In his blog, Mohanlal used an analogy by comparing people standing in long queues in liquor shops and movie theatres to those standing on queues to withdraw money from banks and ATMs. This comparison made by the actor was severely criticised by the netizens.
Many people chided Mohanlal for not addressing the issue without understanding the depth of the situation. Even politicians like MLA VT Balaraman, VD Satheesan and lyricist Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri opposed Mohanlal’s views about demonetisation.
In the professional front, the actor is waiting for the release of Munthirivallikalal Thalirkkumbol, a family entertainer directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob. After the vacation he will be joining the second schedule of Major Ravi’s upcoming war drama 1971 : Beyond Borders
