Oppam trailer looks like a far better version of Taken, says Ram Gopal Varma
Oppam is the upcoming film from Mohanlal-Priyadarshan team and it will hit the screens on the coming Thursday. The film is already created great hype in social media through its fantastic trailer and the song video which released few weeks back. All the songs from the movie had become chartbusters and it had become the most liked songs released here this year.
Oppam is a crime thriller in which Mohanlal playing a blind man character named Jayaraman. The trailer of this film was edited by popular Mollywood director Alphonse Puthren and got great appreciation from all over.
Now popular director Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV had shared the Oppam trailer saying that when he saw the trailer, he felt that it was a far better version of Hollywood movie Taken, starred by Liam Neeson. He felt that Oppam movie has been inspired from Taken.

But as a matter of fact Priyadarshan already told in many media interviews that Oppam is a genuine creation and has nothing to do with any other language movies. In fact the film Karmayodha starred by Mohanlal and directed by Major Ravi was inspired from Taken. It seems that Ram Gopal Varma got it all wrong this time. But still he said it looks a far better version and that can be taken as a compliment as well.
Ram Gopal Varma had made the movie named Company in Hindi in which Mohanlal played a lead role and got IIFA award as well for his performance in it. According to RGV, Mohanlal is the Robert Di Nero of Indian cinema.
