Saif Ali Khan and Priyadarshan Team Up for Hindi Remake of Mohanlal’s Oppam; Actor Confirms Playing a Blind Character

Bollywood is set to witness a unique collaboration as Saif Ali Khan joins hands with veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan for the official Hindi remake of the acclaimed Malayalam thriller Oppam, which originally starred Mohanlal. The project marks the first-ever team-up between Saif and Priyadarshan, generating considerable buzz among fans and industry insiders alike.

In a recent interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Saif confirmed his involvement in the film and revealed that he would be portraying a visually impaired character, describing the role and the collaboration as “very exciting.” However, he refrained from spilling further details about the project.

Oppam follows the story of a blind man who becomes entangled in a murder case while trying to protect the daughter of a retired judge from a vengeful convict. While the complete cast is yet to be officially announced, reports suggest that Bobby Deol may take on the role of the antagonist.

Meanwhile, Saif is also gearing up for the release of Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins on April 25, 2025, and was recently seen in Devara: Part 1 alongside Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. On the other hand, Priyadarshan is currently reuniting with Akshay Kumar after over a decade for the horror-comedy Bhoot Bangla, produced by Balaji Telefilms and set for release on April 2, 2026.
